Stacking dolls display

Please come to the library and checkout our wonderful display from Winona Gebauer.

She was nice enough to share her Matyoska Dolls (little matron), or as others call them stacking dolls.

Also called Babushka (grandmother) dolls are a set of figures nestled inside each other.  They were first crafted in Russia in 1890.

The Globe with ten multi-cultural  figures are to teach children to count.   One figure has a weighted bottom and will upright itself when pulled back.

These were brought back from St. Petersburg, Russia, in 2001 and are the collection of Winona Gebauer of Lakin.
